We will not tolerate race-based hatred.
We will not tolerate racist attacks on our sisters and brothers.
There is no room for this and no room for the speech that enables such actions. We
pledge to call it out when we see it – at home, in our neighborhoods, in our workplaces.
Whether it was the expulsion of Chinese-Americans in Tacoma in 1885; Executive
Order 9066 in 1942, which forced Japanese-American citizens into internment camps;
the murder of mail carrier Joseph Ileto in 1999; or the heinous killing of 6 Asian
American women in Atlanta on March 16, 2021 - there has been too much. We will
continue to work to ensure that there is no room for this hatred in our communities and in our nation.
We stand with our Asian American Pacific Islander sisters and brothers today and every
day. We will walk the road together and we will reach our goal.
