Historically Black Colleges and Universities Utility Careers Summit - Report on Findings

The Honorable Cecil Brown, Vice Chairman, Mississippi Public Service Commission

Dr. Alexander G. Washington, Ph.D., Chief Policy Advisor, Mississippi Public Service Commission

In October 2018, The Honorable Cecil Brown and Dr. Alexander Washington of the Mississippi Public Service Commission held a Historically Black Colleges and Universities Utility Careers Summit. The purpose of this summit was to bring together utilities, which offer stable career pathways, and regulators and educators who have expressed the need to diversify the workforce at utility companies. Together, these different groups discussed building pipelines to employment in the utility industry for minority students. Please join The Honorable Cecil Brown and Dr. Washington, as they discuss the outcomes and findings of the summit. This is an excellent opportunity for regulators, utility executives, human resource professionals and anyone interested in the future of a diverse workforce.
