Regulatory commissions play a crucial role in advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) in utilities and communications. They ensure access for customers from across the community and encourage workforce, Board, and supplier diversity in the utilities they regulate; and advance diversity inside the commissions as well. To realize these goals, and to fully represent the diversity of the community, states require diversity among their regulators.
