NUDC Webinar: California General Order 156 - What It Is And What It Is Not

17Nov
Time: 10:00 am - 11:00 am

Each year, California utilities spend billions with diverse businesses, and much of this is because of GO 156.

Since 1988, through its General Order 156 the CPUC helps ensure that utilities in these industries bring economic prosperity to the communities they serve and direct opportunity to small businesses. Utilities are encouraged to procure at least 23 percent of their goods and services with diverse businesses, including businesses that are majority women; minority-owned; LGBTQ-owned, person with disability-owned, or veteran-owned. Qualified businesses become GO 156-certified through the CPUC and are then added to a Supplier Clearinghouse database.  In this virtual panel, we'll talk about what GO 156 is and what it is not, including how it began, how the CPUC oversees it, and the impact it has had on diverse suppliers.

(To learn more about GO 156, visit the CPUC's Supplier Diversity Program page here.)
